ADD EAL Group

Youth Behavior Group

ADD EAL(Equine Assisted Learning) groups are offered 3 times a year for 12 week. Ages start at 7 years old to teens. Sessions are designed in 2 parts.  The first 20-25 minutes of the session, a social skill is presented and learned. The second half of the session, an activity involving the horses is presented to generalize the skill taught. EAL designs activities that stimulate real life scenarios for the children and teens. Using the horses- creates a mirror of emotions and a picture of how other people may be reacting to their actions in their own life. Problem solving, increasing their focus, ability to communicate and listen within a group are just few on the skills they will learn.

Your child will learn how to proactively deal with the main hallmark characteristics of AD/HD.  Our curriculum will work with on increasing self esteem, learn how to navigate through the school system, advocate for themselves, learn new strategies on dealing with their anger/ mood swings and increase their listening, social and communication skills. They will learn that with practice they can teach their brain how to learn these skills and carry them over into all their environment.
